“Great to see the perfect continuation rain visor exactly as hand made by Mr. Bensley at our works who had a bench in the office near my desk where I sorted the motor racing helmet orders, his wife and daughter did the hand stitching of the visor to the leather at home.

The helmet makers Everett Vero & Co Ltd (yet to be branded Everoak). In the old helmet factory in East Dulwich, near Central London all major helmet retailers had their helmets supplied by Everoak as they did not have the premises and knowledge to manufacture helmet themselves.

Mike Hawthorn used them all the time, wet weather or dry. Peter Collins like Fangio favoured goggles.

Big advantages:

*       did not steam up like goggles

*       easy to wipe off rain or grease with leather backed glove, very good in heavy rain

*       perfect peripheral vision

*       good wind deflector if worn behind aero screen

Stirling was a google man, spare set round his neck and anything to reduce weight and ‘G’ force on head/ neck”

White / brown leather with leather strap, double layered: 425 euros*
*Special requests are possible
